Robert Grimstead is a professional garden designer based in Essex
Robert is a multi-award-winning garden designer with a reputation for breaking paradigms.
Each of his designs is unique to client and site; a fusion of clean geometry, innovative materials and naturalistic planting.
His career spans over two decades and includes work in Europe and the Middle East, he has numerous acolades for designing and building gardens at Hampton, Chelsea and BBC Gardeners World Live and worked on a TV production called ‘Lost Gardens’ with Monty Don.
After graduating from Writtle University, he worked in the gardens of a renowned Jacobean mansion called Hanbury Manor, this enabled him to develop his passion for planting design under a strictly old-school head gardener.
He then spent a year working in Istanbul, where he designed complex schemes for clients with sizeable budgets, also a year in Central London, working closely with pioneering garden designer Stephen Woodhams.
Robert collaborates with Architects, Developers and Interior Designers from the planning stage to ensure the garden creates a harmonious link between the architecture of the house and the surrounding landscape.
